3 Real Estate Shows You Need To Attend This Year

Trade shows and conferences are a great way to stay in-the-know with the real estate industry, learn about new products, and connect with other agents. But with so many trade shows to choose from, how do you know which ones to attend? Check out this list where we outline the three types of trade shows, what they offer for your business, and why you need to attend them.

1. A Regional Trade show
Regional trade shows are typically small and local to you. Often, these shows are put on by an association that caters to your local market. For example, CAR Expo, put on by the California Association of Realtors, is one of the largest regional shows and draws around 10,000 agents.

Reasons to attend:

  • Networking opportunities with other agents
  • Little to no travel costs
  • Information closely related to your local market

2. An Industry Show
Industry shows vary in size, but it’s not the size of them that matter, it’s their content that’s important. A few popular industry shows are Inman Connect, the Xplode Conferences, the Tom Ferry Summit, etc. These shows are where you come to learn more about the industry, hear projections for the future, and stay on top of cutting edge technology.

Reasons to attend:

  • Learn about new trends in real estate
  • Listen to industry leaders and influencers talk about where the industry is headed and what’s next
  • Get a first look at new and emerging real estate technologies/services
  • Learn what top producing agents around the country are doing

3. National Association of Realtors Conference and Expo (NAR)
This is the granddaddy of all real estate trade shows and is held every November. This show attracts thousands of agents from all over the country, and even some international ones! At NAR you can find all the top real estate vendors under one roof. This year NAR is in Chicago and starts on November 3rd, 2017 – you won’t want to miss it!

Reasons to attend:

  • Connect with all the top vendors under one roof, often times offering discounts on their products and services
  • Collect awesome swag gifts from vendors
  • Participate in useful and educational workshops
  • Network in after-hour events
  • Connect with agents outside your local market, think relocating referrals!
